Target Audience
This program is designed for the following broad groups of individuals:
A) To those who want to be considered for the recruitment of trainers, psychologists and career counsellors in Second Chance Schools.
B) For active teachers of all specialties and all levels.
C) For undergraduate and postgraduate students.
D) Private teachers working in private schools or other structures.
Objective
The 800-hour programme aims to provide theoretical and practical training for people who are interested in working as Adult Educators, Career Counsellors or Psychologists in Second Chance Schools (SSEs).
Duration
The program has a total duration of 800 hours, is implemented over a period of 7.5 months, and corresponds to 40 ECVET credits.
Expected Outcomes
Having completed the program, trainees are expected to:
- Know the basic theoretical principles governing the field of Adult Education.
• They are able to apply the basic principles of design, implementation and evaluation of educational programmes for adults.
• They know the history, the institutional framework, the nature of the curricula, as well as the profile of the SDE trainer.
• They design teaching units and small educational programmes in their field of specialization within the framework of SDE operations.
Delivery Method
The educational design follows a methodology that supports Open and Distance e-learning. Teaching through an asynchronous distance learning system is primarily based on the asynchronous study of educational material and activity development, largely ensuring the autonomy of the learner.
The program consists of three (3) parts in total:
- Part A: Theoretical Framework of Adult Education
- Part B: Familiarisation with the specific context of Second Chance Schools
- Part C: Literacies in Second Chance Schools.
Each part includes:
- asynchronous online teaching via an e-learning platform, allowing the trainee to choose their personal study schedule to review the educational material,
- additional Training Material,
- Assessment activities.
Certificate of Completion
Upon completion of the program and provided there are no outstanding financial obligations, the trainee immediately receives a printed certificate of successful completion, accompanied by a Diploma Supplement.
