Training in the Thematic Subject of Vocational Guidance

KEK10 K.D.B.M., certified by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports (certification code: 2100427), implements the seminar “Training in the Thematic Subject of Vocational Guidance”.

It aims at the theoretical and practical training of people who are interested in working as Trainers, Career Counsellors and Psychologists in Second Chance Schools and to obtain the maximum points for their recruitment.

Who it is addressed to

The programme is addressed to the following broad groups of stakeholders:
A) Those who want to be considered for the recruitment of career counsellors in Second Chance Schools.
B) To active teachers of all disciplines and all levels, who are interested in providing professional orientation services in the context of their teaching duties.
C) To teachers of all levels who wish to develop their knowledge on issues related to the subject of career guidance as well as to career counsellors who wish to deepen their knowledge in this field.
D) Undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in training in the field of vocational guidance.
E) Private teachers working in private schools or other structures.
F) Health professionals, social workers, psychologists and sociologists.

Objective

The 800-hour programme aims to provide theoretical and practical training for people interested in working as Career Counsellors in Second Chance Schools (SSEs).
The aim of the programme is to provide participants with access to key points in the broader scope of the discipline of Counselling both generally and more specifically in the workplace in the light of a rapidly evolving landscape.

Duration

The programme has a total duration of 800 hours, is implemented over a period of 7.5 months and corresponds to 40 ECVET credits.

Expected Results

Attending the programme is expected to benefit the participants, both cognitively and professionally. In particular, all those who successfully complete the programme are expected to have acquired:

  • Comprehensive and accurate information on the advisory services in Greek society
  • Knowledge of professional development theories
  • Adequate training to conduct counselling sessions for children, adolescents and adults
  • Strategies and techniques for conducting Vocational Counselling to special and non-special groups
  • Increased professional qualifications, validated by a certificate of attendance.

Implementation method

The educational design follows the methodology that supports Open and Distance e-learning. Teaching through an asynchronous tele-education system is mainly based on the asynchronous study of the educational material and development of activities, in order to ensure to a large extent the autonomy of the Learner.

The programme consists of a total of four (4) parts:

  • Part A: Contact with the basic theoretical horizons of the field of Career Guidance and Counselling.
  • Part B: Focus on Educational Mentoring.
  • Part C: Familiarisation with the profession of Guidance Counsellor & Career Guidance and Counselling.
  • Part D: Familiarisation with the theoretical framework of adult education and lifelong learning, the institutional framework and the operational framework of the SDEs.

Each part includes:

  • asynchronous online teaching via a tele-education platform, so that the trainee can choose his/her own personal educational time frame to study the educational material,
  • additional Training Material,
  • Evaluation activities.

Certificate of Attendance

Upon completion of the programme and provided that there is no financial obligation, the trainee immediately receives a certificate of successful completion of the programme in paper form, accompanied by a Supplement of Studies.
