Food Hygiene & Safety (EFET)
KEK10 – KDVM Pallini, in cooperation with the Unified Food Control Authority (EFET), implements Level 1 training programs on “Food Hygiene and Safety” (EFET seminar). EFET ΕΦΕΤ determines the minimum content of the programmes, approves and controls their implementation in accordance with the requirements, carries out the evaluation procedure and issues the relevant training certificates.
The above programme aims to impart general and basic knowledge for the correct application of appropriate practices – handling during the production, processing, storage, transport, distribution and supply of safe food and the correct understanding of the mandatory, by law and current scientific know-how, practices for food hygiene and safety.
According to the Ministerial Decision 14708/17-08-2007 (Government Gazette B' 1616), food businesses that produce, process, store, transport, distribute or retail foodstuffs or are engaged in the retail trade, the distribution of foodstuffs, food retailing, food distribution, catering and confectionery or are food production or processing laboratories, are obliged to train all their staff (EFET seminar), who are involved in food handling, on the basis of the procedure described in the Ministerial Decision and in accordance with Regulation 852/2004 of the European Food Safety Authority.Ε.
The KEK10-KDVM PALLINIS, responding to the increasing needs of the country's workforce, undertakes the organization and implementation of training programs (Efet seminar), with face-to-face (classroom) and distance learning (e-learning), which ensure success in the Efet examinations for obtaining the certificate. The programme specifications are as follows:
- Each training programme lasts 8 - 10 hours and fully covers all the modules required for successful participation in the certification exam.
- Attendance hours are morning or afternoon, in order to combine with the trainees' working hours.
- The trainers of the training programme belong to the register of trainers of food business personnel of the Hellenic Food Safety Authority.
- The curriculum is approved by the Hellenic Food Safety Authority.
- A certificate of participation is issued upon registration.
- A certificate of attendance is issued at the end of the training programme.
- Upon completion of the training, participants are entitled to participate in examinations scheduled by the Hellenic Food Safety Authority to obtain certification.
- The classes have continuous openings, are daily and offer high quality studies combining electronic presentations, note taking, etc.
The modules included in each training programme (EFET seminar) for the training of food business staff (Level 1) are briefly as follows:
- Introduction to food safety
- Micro-organisms and their characteristics
- Crusades and their prevention
- Personal hygiene and food handler behaviour
- Working environment
- Cleaning practices
- Common miasms and their control
- Food hygiene legislation
The programme (EFET seminar) is addressed to employees in the food business sector, regardless of the employer-employee employment relationship provided (permanent, contracted seasonal employees, etc.), as well as their nationality. It concerns persons who produce, process, store, store, transport, distribute foodstuffs or are engaged in retail trade, food distribution, catering and confectionery or work in food production or processing workshops.
The programme aims to ensure quality, produce safe products and protect the consumer, in accordance with European Parliament Regulation 852/2004 on food hygiene.
The duration of the program is 8 - 10 hours and takes place in 2 days.
With your registration, a temporary certificate of participation is provided immediately, which covers you until the date of the seminar.
