Training in Vocational Education and Training

It aims at the theoretical and practical training of people who are interested in working as Adult Educators in Vocational Training Institutes (VET Institutes).

Who it is addressed to

The programme is aimed at the following broad groups of stakeholders:

A) To those who want to be awarded points for the recruitment of instructors in Vocational Training Institutes (2 points).

B) To active teachers of all disciplines and all levels.

C) Undergraduate and postgraduate students.

D) To private teachers working in private schools and other structures.

Objective

The 800-hour programme aims to provide theoretical and practical training for people interested in working as Adult Educators in Vocational Training Institutes (VET Institutes).

Duration

The programme has a total duration of 800 hours, is implemented over a period of 7.5 months and corresponds to 40 ECVET credits.

Expected Results

Having attended the programme, trainees are expected to:

• They know the basic theoretical principles governing the field of Adult Education.
• They are able to apply the basic principles of design, implementation and evaluation of educational programmes in the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.
• They know the institutional framework of the IEKs and in particular become familiar with the principles of their operation and the study guide of the respective specialisations.

Implementation method

The educational design follows the methodology that supports Open and Distance e-learning. Teaching through an asynchronous tele-education system is mainly based on the asynchronous study of the educational material and development of activities, in order to ensure to a large extent the autonomy of the Learner.

The programme consists of a total of three (3) parts:

A) In the first part the trainees focus on the basic theoretical horizons of the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.

B) In the second part the trainees focus on the design of programmes and teaching interventions in the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education
.

C) “Part C: Familiarization with the specific framework of Vocational Training Institutes”, includes the institutional framework of Vocational Training Institutes in Greece.

Each part includes:

• asynchronous online teaching via a tele-education platform, so that the trainee can choose his/her own personal educational time frame to study the educational material,
• additional Training Material,
• Evaluation activities.

Certificate of Attendance

Upon completion of the programme and provided that there is no financial obligation, the trainee immediately receives a certificate of successful completion of the programme in paper form, accompanied by a Supplement of Studies.
