Professional Development in Vocational Education and Training
KEK10 K.D.B.M., a certified Lifelong Learning Center (KDBM) by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports (certification code: 2100427), is implementing the seminar “Professional Development in Vocational Education and Training.”
Its goal is the theoretical and practical training of individuals interested in working as Adult Educators in Vocational Training Institutes (IEK).
Target Audience
This program is designed for the following broad groups of individuals:
A) For those who wish to gain points for instructor recruitment in Vocational Training Institutes (IEK) (2 points).
B) For active teachers of all specialties and all levels.
C) For undergraduate and postgraduate students.
D) For private educators working in private schools or other structures.
Objective
The program, with a total duration of 800 hours, aims at the theoretical and practical training of individuals interested in working as Adult Educators in Vocational Training Institutes (IEK).
Duration
The program has a total duration of 800 hours, is implemented over a period of 7.5 months, and corresponds to 40 ECVET credits.
Expected Outcomes
Having completed the program, trainees are expected to:
- Know the basic theoretical principles governing the field of Adult Education.
- Be able to apply the basic principles of designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.
- Know the institutional framework of IEKs and, in particular, become familiar with their operating principles and the curriculum of the respective specialties.
Delivery Method
The educational design follows a methodology that supports Open and Distance e-learning. Teaching through an asynchronous distance learning system is primarily based on the asynchronous study of educational material and activity development, largely ensuring the autonomy of the learner.
The program consists of three (3) parts in total:
A) In the first part, trainees focus on the basic theoretical determinants of the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.
B) In the second part, trainees focus on the design of programs and teaching interventions in the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult
Education.
C) “Part C: Familiarization with the specific framework of Vocational Training Institutes” includes the institutional framework of Vocational Training Institutes in Greece.
Each part includes:
- asynchronous online teaching via an e-learning platform, allowing the trainee to choose their personal study schedule to review the educational material,
- additional Training Material,
- Assessment activities.
Certificate of Completion
Upon completion of the program and provided there are no outstanding financial obligations, the trainee immediately receives a printed certificate of successful completion, accompanied by a Diploma Supplement.
