Principles of Adult Education

KEK10 K.D.B.M., certified by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports (certification code: 2100427), implements the seminar “Principles of Adult Education”.

It aims at the theoretical and practical training of people who are interested in working as Trainers, Career Counsellors and Psychologists in Second Chance Schools and to obtain the maximum points for their recruitment.

Who it is addressed to
The programme is addressed to the following broad groups of stakeholders:
A) To those who want to be considered for recruitment of trainers, psychologists and career counsellors in Second Chance Schools.
B) To active teachers of all disciplines and at all levels.
C) To undergraduate and postgraduate students.
D) To private teachers working in private schools or other structures.

Objective
The 800-hour programme aims at providing theoretical and practical training for people interested in working as Adult Educators, Career Counsellors or Psychologists in Second Chance Schools (SSE).

Duration
The programme has a total duration of 800 hours, is implemented over a period of 7.5 months and corresponds to 40 ECVET credits.

Expected Outcomes
Having attended the programme, trainees are expected to:

– They know the basic theoretical principles governing the field of Adult Education.
– They are able to apply the basic principles of design, implementation and evaluation of educational programmes for adults.
– Design and implement micro-teachings.
– They know the history, the institutional framework, the nature of the curricula and the profile of the SNE trainer.
– Design teaching modules and short educational programmes in their field of expertise in the context of the operation of the SDEs.

Implementation Method
The educational design follows the methodology that supports Open and Distance e-learning. The teaching through an asynchronous tele-education system is mainly based on the asynchronous study of the educational material and development of activities, in order to ensure to a large extent the autonomy of the Learner.

The programme consists of a total of four (4) parts:

Part A: Basic theoretical horizons of the field of Adult Education
Part B: Design of programmes and teaching interventions specifically designed for Adults
Part C: Design of specific teaching interventions and integrated, short term, educational programme for Adults.
Part D: Familiarisation with the institutional framework as well as the context in which the SSEs operate and design of specific teaching interventions that could potentially be implemented in a SSE.

Each part includes: asynchronous online teaching via a tele-education platform, so that the trainee can choose his/her personal educational time frame to study the educational material, additional Training Material, Assessment activities.

Certificate of Attendance
Upon completion of the programme and if there is no financial obligation, the trainee receives immediately a certificate of successful completion of the programme in paper form, accompanied by a Supplement of Studies.
